Class 2B exchanged letters with Portugal. Here's an example.
Dear mariana
We have just received your letter, we are Lavinia Savelli and Giorgia Loddo . Lavinia live in the center of Orte; in your house there aren’t a garden but there are eight rooms. She have not her room but shares it with her sister; my bedroom is small but there are two beds, one television, some posters, one library and one wardrobe. The place she like most is dining room, it is large and bright, there are a big library, some photos, two sofas, and one table of crystal. She usually study in your room or in the kitchen. When she is home she usually do homework, she watch television and read a book; she have a computer and she use it very often. Near your house lives your best friend Simone, whit your friend she walks of Orte, ride a bike and go to the cinema. Giorgia live in the suburb of Orte, in your house there aren’t a garden but there are seven rooms. She have her room, it is small and long, there are a television, one bed, some books, a computer, one wardrobe and some posters. The place she like most is dining room, it is large and nice, there are two chairs, two sofas, some photos, one library, one television and one small table. She usually study in your room or in the dining room. When she is home she usually listening to music, play computer games and read a newspaper; she have a computer and she use it very often. Near your house lives Chiara e Giulia, whit your friends she walks of Orte and she watch television. In our town there are some squares, some café, cinema and some shop.

Newspaper Project
The school-year 2010- 2011, just finished, has started with a good project with a school in Denmark. It has been since 2007-2008 that I have contacts with schools in Denmark, thanks to the portal " the Image of the other", so that my pupils are put in touch with pupils in Denmark.
Here is a project I had with the pipils of class 3 A.
The Newspaper Project
Italy and Denmark
On Thursday September 20th 2010 both schools:
Ålholmskolen, Hillerød, Denmark
and
Istituto Comprensivo Orte, Scuola Media A. Deci, Italy
will take several free copies of the newspapers:
Denmark: Metro Express
Italy: Metro Express
From those newspapers several articles are cut out, made copies of and/or scanned.
These items are the divided in these “themes”:
1 Headline first page
2 Foreign news
3 Weather forecast
4 Television program
5 Sports
6 Showbiz
7 Advertisements
8 Comics
The class will be split up in smaller groups. Every group will get an article or item.
This article is to be:
A scanned (in order to email the original to the project partner)
B summarized
C translated, all or just a part of it
To do this the children get 3 times 45 minutes.
In the Ålholmskolen this will be during the English lessons.
In the Istituto Comprensivo Orte, Scuola Media A. Deci this will be during the lessons: English
At the end of the project all results will be mailed to the project partner; not later than on September 27th.
The results will be published in posters showing the similarities and differences between the newspapers in Denmark and Italy on a given day. The posters will be finished end September.
